Test Site Sweden på LindholmenOn 20-21 October 2010 there will be a national demonstration of strength within the area of automotive testing. Bringing together more than 70 researchers, testing contractors and automotive companies at the automotive testing seminar in Arvidsjaur. The Centre for Automotive Systems Technologies and Testing (CASTT) at Luleå Technical University is organising the seminar for the third consecutive year, together with Test Site Sweden and the Swedish Proving Ground Association (SPGA).

"We are successful with regard to automotive testing in Sweden. We have a unique competence that has been accumulated over a long period of time and through the Swedish Automotive Testing Seminar we wish to show that the university and testing contractors together are ready to take on even more advanced tasks," says Per-Gunnar Sundström, SPGA.

"Through the seminar we can initiate projects between vehicle manufacturers, testing contractors and academia. There is now a demand for cooperation as the automotive industry is faced with major technical challenges, such as electrification of the driveline, transition to active safety systems or integration of new automotive communication concepts," says Peter Öhman, Programme Director for Test Site Sweden.

The purpose of the seminar is to create a meeting point for cooperation between researchers and contractors, where representatives from the automotive industry, academy and testing contractors from the entire country can meet and discuss current issues. The seminar will last two days and will raise issues relating to the challenges in the testing industry as well as new innovations and methods.
