Malin Franck mananger for the new hotel

Next spring the new Radisson Blu Hotel Riverside opens at Lindholmen. For Malin Franck, general manager for the new hotel, work has already begun. In March she moves into an office in the building Kuggen at Lindholmen. She was previously manager for a number of hotels in Stockholm, Gothenburg and most recently in Beijing. To start a hotel of her own is something she dreamed about.

The hotel will open in April 2013, what do you do until then?
My job is to ensure that the hotel can open on time. I work with everything from interior design and layout of the rooms, corridors, bar and spa to develop a restaurant concept. We’re situated in an area that looks to the future, so we’re trying to find a design that fits that feeling. What’s your impression of Lindholmen? It's an incredibly fascinating and expansive district; you can feel it vibrate with life. Gothenburg is growing right here.

What distinguishes this hotel from others?
The unique location! It will be Gothenburg’s best waterfront hotel. The rooms have very nice view both towards Ramberget and towards the water, it will be amazing. We offer free WiFi connection in the entire hotel. The Radisson Blue have a service philosophy, Yes I Can, which mean each of us act towards our guests in a positive service-oriented manner. Our goal is to have 100% guest satisfaction. If you are not satisfied with something, we encourage you to tell us. We ensure your satisfaction – or you pay nothing.

Sounds pleasant, who will your guests be?
Out hotel live 365 days a year, so we don’t focus on one specific group. All companies at Lindholmen will have room for their guests. We will also work with Lindholmen Conference Center to accommodate their visitors. We will offer room when there is a major event in Gothenburg. And of course, both tourists and leisure travelers are very important to us.

You started at the beginning of the year, how does it feel now?
Managing a hotel is always a challenge, whether it’s new or old. Most people in my business dream about opening their own hotel, so for me this is a dream come true.

About Radisson Blu Hotel Riverside
265 rooms for at least two people, both standard rooms and suites. The hotel include restaurant, bar, lounge and meetings rooms. There is a relaxation area on the roof with spa, sauna, treatment rooms, gym and swimming pools. The outdoor terrace offers a view over Gothenburg. Both hotel guests and residents at Lindholmen will have access to the terrace.
