    European Maritime Day on May 20

    Every year on May 20, European Maritime Day is celebrates with activities across Europe. In Gothenburg, a festival with focus on the ocean will shape the city’s quays, from Gullbergsvass by Packhuskajsen, the America Shed to Klippan on one side of the river and from Lindholmen to Eriksberg on the other side.

    Venture Cup rewards safety-valve for cancer treatment

    On May 10, Venture Cup named the winners of their West Region finals. The prestigious award for best business plan went to Micael Törnblom, who was awarded 200 000 SEK and a ticket to Sweden Venture Cup finals. Micael has patented a new safety-valve “CYTO365” which prevent blood clots and air embolism in chemotherapy patients.

    May 20th is celebrated as the European Maritime Day. Year 2012 Gothenburg will arrange a day, open for the public, full of of exiting maritime activities along the Göta river (Göta Älv). Explore life under and above the water and on the shorelines. Visit ships and boats, join excursions or learn more about sustainable fishing. You may also take a challenge in an interactive exhibition and much more.
